handwritten letters

The gorgeous Emily, from The Freckled Fox, had a really wonderful idea that I can't help but want to borrow!  One thing that her and I have in common is our love for handwritten letters.  I remember when getting an e-mail was the most exciting thing ever because letters only ever came by mail once a day.  Not to mention you had to wait so long for a reply.  Now it is the opposite!  I feel like handwritten letters are going to be a thing of the past before too long, and I'm not ready to give them up just yet.  Hopefully you aren't either!

Remember those penpal websites that you could sign up for?  You could either choose to email back and forth or you could write letters.  I signed up for one of those and had quite a few penpals back when I was in middle school.  I thought it was the coolest thing ever!  I spent countless hours writing letters to awesome friends all around the world.  So, what do you say we become penpals?  I'll admit that it sounds a little cheesy, but it also sounds like so much fun!  If you are interested go ahead and say so in your comment and we can exchange addresses :)

When Billy and I first started dating and were across the country from one another we used to write each other letters!

This is definitely adorable! I remember my friends and I used to write to each other during the summer because we didn't have email and texts yet!

I used to write letters back and forth with a friend in high school just to rebel against the internet. . . then when I dated my ex in the Marines we wrote each other every day. I miss getting excited to check the mail!

You are so right about how exciting and wonderful emails seemed at first, but yes now they are just so common place and so quick and easy that they have taken the art away from letter writing all together.
