weekends, work, and fun

I'm pretty sure that I could write post after post about how I love animals and how I love being able to work on a farm.  Before I even start talking about my weekend, I have to tell you about the cutest little baby miniature donkey that we got to play with!  She was only two days old when I took these pictures!  The momma's name is Haley, and they are thinking of naming the baby Comet.  Isn't that adorable?!  I can't get over how darn cute she is.  I told John that we are going to have to add some mini donkeys to our "zoo" when we move.  Carson absolutely loved her and wanted to bring her home with us.  I wasn't about to say no.  One day!

Anyways, this weekend was an interesting one!  We made a lot of plans but unfortunately they kept falling through which was frustrating, but we still had a really good weekend full of hard work.  John's mom watched Carson for us on Saturday night because we were going to go to the rodeo, but the rodeo was sold out.  There were only five people in front of us before they sold out.  Ugh, I was so bummed!  I've been looking forward to and talking about the rodeo all week.  I knew I should have bought tickets early.  Since we didn't have Carson we decided to spend a nice quiet night at home and watch Thor 2.

Also, over the weekend, we did also 7.5 hours worth of work out at the barn building a fence and cleaning stalls/paddocks.  I've never put up fencing before, but luckily John has!  I always have a blast working on things with John.  I learn a lot from him, not to mention it is always very entertaining!  Carson was a big helper too!  He loves to work outside, something I hope he never grows out of.

Weather-wise this weekend was so gorgeous!  Spring started off perfectly!  It was sunny all weekend and even got into the mid 50's.  I really hope this weather sticks around.  We took the dogs for a walk, and Carson got to ride his bike for the first time this year!  We ended our exhausting weekend with breakfast for dinner.

Awww little Comet! What a sweetie! Sound like you guys had a very productive weekend and that breakfast for dinner was well deserved (and looks delicious!) Happy Monday!

I seem to adore all "mini" animals. Like that mini giraffe that's in that one commercial (can't even remember what it's about - just remember the giraffe). I want one. :)

Breakfast for dinner is the best and it really sounds like a good weekend although bummer about the rodeo.
